Flower Patch Scrapbook Page

Hello Stampin' Friends!

Well, I am closer than ever to get things rolling over here and I hope to get some classes going in the next month! While I have not been "classroom ready" yet, I have been able to do a little paper crafting here and there. So I am going to spend the next week or two updating my blog with some of those projects!

First up, is a scrapbook page I made a couple of months ago using the Flower Patch stamp set and the coordinating Flower Flair Thinlits:

I also used the Butterfly thinlits as well as some of my favorite colors! I have to say, though, probably my most favorite aspect of this page is the Background fence I created using the Hardwood stamp. I stamped the image twice side by side in Soft Suede ink on Sahara Sand card stock, then "nicked" out the top using my triangle punch. Then I scored between each of the boards and folded the creases. This added some extra dimension and allowed me to also sponge on some more Soft Suede ink to complete the look!

All Supplies Used: Flower Patch Stamp Set, Hardwood Stamp Set, Feel Goods Stamp Set, Butterflies Thinlits, Flower Fair Thinlits, Triangle Punch, SU Cardstock (Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede), Classic Stampin' Pads (Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Wisteria Wonder, Soft Sky, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi, Pistachio Pudding, Calypso Coral, Strawberry Slush), Rhinestones colored in alcohol ink markers

The two products above are also available in a bundle at a 15% discount!

February Club Projects

I know this is long overdue, but here are the club projects from February!  I am slowly but surely getting caught up! :o)

Our first project was a broach for St. Patrick's Day using the Designer Rosette XL Die as well as some ribbon and "smooshed" bottle caps from the Occasions Spring Catalog.  The image in the middle was created using My Digital Studio and the Lucky Shamrock digital stamp!  It was sized to fit perfectly in the bottlecap (1"):

Secondly, we did a scrapbook page using the "Sycamore Street" coordinating product line from the 2013 Sale-A-Bration brochure.  The stamp, "Amazing Family" was debuted in the Occasions Catalog and is still available!  It is such a great scrapbook image because it is so versatile in it's choices of family titles! In fact, everyone in the class got to pick the family title they wished to use for their scrapbook page.  I chose "Brother" to highlight this wonderful pic I have of my two boys!

"Year in Review" mini-album

Here is the project we made in our December Club - a Year in Review mini-album!
The album is a hybrid project made with a combination of traditional materials as well as prints from My Digital Studio. All materials were from the Twitterpated collection. We even managed to get a little fabric in! And while the traditional materials are no longer available, the digital kit is! That is one of the things I love about MDS! Having your favorite collections available forever! :-)
We used a simple accordion fold technique to make up the body of the album, and each page featured a pocket with a monthly journaling card created in MDS. The front of each pocket featured a band for inserting a photograph for each month:

Saying goodbye...

Today is the last day to order from the Holiday Mini Catalog before the Occasions Mini goes live tomorrow!

Here's a few of my favorite products and projects from the holiday mini... and at the end of this post is a link to the products that will be carrying over!

I really had a blast making this wreath at a class my downline, Michelle Walker, held.  It was a lot of work, but well worth it in the end!  This is a wreath I will be proudly displaying for many Christmases to come!

At the class, we could choose which products we wanted to use, and I chose the Holly Berry Bouquet product suite from the Holiday Mini catalog.

The wreath featured a whole lot of fan fold flowers using the brand new Simply Scored tool as well as some Yoyo's made from the Designer Fabric!

Here is a gorgeous wreath my upline, Alecia Connelly, made using the Spice Cake product suite:

And here's the one that started it all - made by the class instructor (and my downline AND BFF), Michelle Walker! :o)

Speaking of the Spice Cake product suite (which happened to be my favorite from the catalog) - I used it to make a Thanksgiving scrapbook page:

...and a lovely birthday card!:

Lastly, I made a witches hat with a hodge podge of products!

I featured a distressed banner using the Hand-Penned holidays stamp set from the Holiday mini:

For the loads of seam binding ribbon, I jut hand-dyed our very vanilla ribbon using the Cajun Craze and Concord Crush reinkers!  I think they turned out great! :o)

So.... if there's anything you fell in love with in the Holiday Mini catalog, get off your patootie and into my online store to get your order in before midnight MST!  And while you're there, don't forget to check out the clearance rack blitz still going on until January 5th!!!

May Club Project - Father's Day

For my May hostess club, we focused on Father's Day and National Scrapbooking month to make these great accordion-style mini albums!

Here is a great tutorial on how to make the basic album.  What I love about this album, it you can expand it to be as large as you want it to be by simply adding more folded square pieces!

We embellished ours with the following supplies:
Nautical Expedition DSP (Summer Mini) & coordinating Card stock/Ink
The Open Sea Stamp Set (Summer Mini)

This is one absolutely gorgeous album with some amazing techniques… I can’t wait to learn how to make those flowers!  And what a great opportunity to create a very special handmade gift for that special someone on Valentine’s Day!

All information on the class can be found here on the the class flyer.  Please contact Michelle directly if you would like to attend!

Hope to see you there! :o)

May Club Projets

Here's the projects from the May club!
We did a Father's Day card using the "King of the Grill" stamp set from the Summer Mini, as well as a great Emboss-resist technique with the Big Shot Square Lattice Embossing folder. (Thanks to my upline, Alecia Connelly, for teaching me this awesome technique!)

Click Here to download full supply list and instructions.
Next, for National Scrapbooking month, we did a mini album made with envelopes and pull-out journaling cards! It featured the gorgeous "Elements of Style" stamp set. I added my photos and the punched sentiments (using "In a Word" stamp set) to show how the album can look completed and with additional embellishments.
Here you can see how the journaling cards pull out from behind each photo:

Parisian Breeze - SB in a Box

Here's my latest SB in a Box (yes, I LOVE making these things!). This one was for my mom's birthday.

I used the Parisian Breeze designer series paper (man, this stuff is THICK and sturdy!). I also went for four levels instead of my usual three.

I used the new oval stamp set ("Oval All") and the new oval scallop punch from the mini catalog to make the date labels. However, I left the phrases in the stamps out by just coloring what I needed with markers and then stamping.

The flower in the middle is from prima (the blue flower behind it is also prima):

Also new - I tried using a different edge punch for the top of each "page", and I love the way it came out!

Here are 2 tutorials I've found out on the net to make these boxes:

http://imageevent.com/littlecs7/projectofthemonth/srcrapbookinabox?n=1&z=2&x=1&c=5&m=20&w=0&p=0

The main difference between the two are how the box tops are made. I prefer the deeper, sturdier version I made here, but I've also made the shallower version when I needed to show more design on the box sides.
