November Club Projects

For my clubs this month, we focused on Christmas and using acetate window sheets!
This first project was an acetate card using quite a few different stamp sets (see below). However, the same card can also be done easily with just the Snow Swirled set in the Holiday section of the IBC! We also used the Platinum shimmer paint from the holiday mini!
Click here for the full supply list and tutorial.
Stamp Sets Used: Dasher, Serene Snowflakes, Snow Swirled (sentiments).
Our second project was all about the Big Shot! We used the thinner acetate window sheets to make this cute peppermint gift bag! Of course, with the bag being see-through, all sorts of yummy holiday treats would look good in here!
Click Here for the full supply list and tutorial!
Big Shot dies used: Bigz XL "Fancy Favor", Embosslits "Merry", and Sizzlits "Merry Details".

Sponge Dauber: Pastels vs. Inks

I was recently asked a question about the difference between using the pastels and inks with a sponge dauber. So I decided to demo it! :o)
Over all, the pastels give you a softer affect and a more blended look. The inks, while just as fun to work with, are more crisp.
(Left side - pastels; right side - inks)
Here is a close up of the "poppin Pastels" technique. There is a great tutorial on this technique here at SCS. Basically, you stamp your image in Versamark ink and then use a sponge dauber to dab your pastel color onto the image. The funnest part of this technique is seeing your image come alive right before your eyes! :o)
This is the same technique used with the classic inks (It will also work with the Craft - but will need to be heat set or embossed). The only difference is, I picked up my color with the sponge dauber on the ink pad and put it directly onto the stamp. Once I applied all my colors, I then stamped the image. This one can be a little tricky, because you don't really see the full result until you actually stamp the image. But I love the element of surprise! :o)
Supplies used: Medallion Background Stamp; Versamark Ink Pad; Stampin' Pastels (Ruby Red, Old Olive and Summer Sun); Classic Ink Pads in Ruby Red & Old Olive; Sponge Daubers.
